ACC Initial Acupuncture 60-Minutes

ACC Initial Acupuncture 60 Minutes: In New Zealand, accidents are subsidized by the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC). If you have unfortunately experienced an accident, you may be eligible to receive acupuncture at Acute Acupuncture Wellington Central under the ACC scheme. You must provide your practitioner with specific information to receive acupuncture under ACC and subsidized treatments at the clinic. ACC and Acute Acupuncture Wellington Central require this information. The information is located on your original claim that ACC approved. The clinic requires these three things: 1). Your claim number (ACC-45 number), 2). The date of injury (DD/MM/YYYY), and 3). Your diagnosis (Read codes) that is associated with this injury. It is highly advised that you bring your ACC information or access this information at the time of your booking via the Manage My Health login.

NOTE: Even if you have been to the clinic for a different reason or a different ACC claim, you will still need to do an initial ACC treatment as this is a New Claim. The new information will need to be collected to provide this information to ACC regarding the New claim. If you do not have evidence of your ACC claim, you may be charged the normal price of an acupuncture treatment until this evidence has been provided to the clinic.

***PLEASE NOTE: Switching Practitioners or Acupuncture Clinics will require a New Initial ACC consultation. Any injuries that are over 12 months old may require additional paperwork (ACC32); this needs to be conducted at the clinic and will need to be provided to ACC before being approved by ACC. Before any subsidized ACC treatments can commence, your ACC32 will need to be approved by ACC. You also only get 12 acupuncture treatments or 12 weeks of subsidized treatments from the initial treatment date at the clinic or other clinic you started your treatments with or whichever of the 12 comes first. The patient may be charged the full cost of treatments until your ACC32 request has been approved. Note: this may take ACC 4-6 weeks to be approved.***
